Leo Lithium is expected to be a leader in the ASX lithium landscape as the next large scale global lithium hard rock project to enter production. With the Goulamina Lithium project is situated 190km south of Bamako (the capital of Mali) and a life of mine of more than 20 years, we expect to develop a strong and successful working relationship with our communities.
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for working closely and collaborating with the project management team on construction of Stage 1 and beyond for the Goulamina Lithium Project. Working closely with the Project Manager, the successful candidate will provide sound and timely quality and technical support in particular in relation to aspects of quality, risk, quantitative reporting and management direction.
Work in a senior role on one of West Africa’s most exciting projects, key priorities around engineering and programming include:

- Coordinate and liaise with the project team, design team and subcontractors
- Oversee the design process from a field installation perspective
- Ensure that the design is compliant with the project brief
- Implement value engineering solutions and ensure that no scope creep is created by the design team
- Ensure Safety in Design considerations for construction and for operation are undertaken
- Provide technical advice to Supervisors and Subcontractors including liaison with consultants to ensure that safety, time, cost and quality objectives are optimised
- Identify & resolve design & coordination issues in a timely manner with the assistance of the Supervisors to prevent/minimise defective work and programme delays
- Ensure most economical and functional methods of construction are implemented
- Ensure all necessary structural inspections are carried out and signed off
- Assist, as required, on key planning and program status with regard to progress, time, cost and contractual issues
- Identify possible construction problems or potential delays early and implement mitigation strategies to limit adverse consequences
- Coordinate with the Project Team for sequencing and materials storage to ensure that works are optimised and unimpeded
- Develop and issue a 12-week Medium Range Programme (MRP), status weekly and updated monthly. MRP to demonstrate compliance to main contract program.
- Assist Supervisors in the development, implementation and monitoring of the 3-week Short Range Programmes (SRPs)
- Attend weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and ensure that all relevant information is documented in the meeting minutes and programmes updated as required prior to formal issue
- Monitor subcontractor performance and document deficiencies Project Management
- Identify budgetary risk and opportunities including proposed mitigation strategies
Role requirements include:

- Mechanical Engineer Degree qualified or similar with 7+ years of relevant experience
- Previous Mining/Construction/site experience
- Reporting and risk experience is critical
- The ultimate problem solver with a proactive and can-do attitude
- Ability to analytically approach problems
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the project organisation
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
- Confident and comfortable giving direction and feedback
- Adaptability and agility to learn and contribute to varying and complex environments
- A steadfast commitment to safety
- Fluent in English (essential)
- Fluent in French (desirable)
