Expatriate – HME Senior Planner (Mali)

The Company

B2Gold is an international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. The Company currently has three operating gold mines and numerous exploration and development projects in various countries including Mali, Namibia, Colombia and the Philippines.

Introduction

The principal function of the incumbent is to support the ongoing efficient and reliable operation of site HME, where complex maintenance and repair issues are expertly managed. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the HME team,

Location and Reporting Manager

Reporting to the HME Senior Superintendent, Planning and Reliability, this position will be an 8/4 fly in-fly out rotation, based at the B2Gold Mali Fekola Mine.

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Accountable for the sustainment of HME maintenance Planning controls, programs, systems, and processes. Includes: CMMS, Master Data, Maintenance Strategies, and systems;
    • Maintain a Work Management system (using CMMS) to provide accurate and timely schedules, fleet history, parts / components stock holding and availability, work order detail, wear analysis, failure prediction and trends thereof;
    • Develop and maintain a rolling 12-week planning window (in line with the mine operations plan), and establish weekly and four-weekly schedules highlighting key activities and milestones;
    • Maintain a full and complete equipment register for both equipment and components that is properly classified for data structuring and record retrieval;
    • Maintain registers to ensure mobile equipment compliance with Statutory and Regulatory requirements and site policies and procedures;
    • Ensure component and rotable information is kept current, is accurate and reviewed periodically;
    • Ensure that equipment usage statistics are accurate;
    • Utilize the frequency-based maintenance strategy for equipment in conjunction with the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs to determine the tasks to be scheduled;
    • Supervise a team of maintenance planners / schedulers, (direct and indirect) to improve availability to ensure the fit for purpose equipment / systems are optimized;
    • Verify and validate maintenance activities;
    • Track maintenance cost and make corrections to planning and scheduling as required;
    • Lead by example in all aspects of the vision, values, and social responsibility;
    • Provide training to team regarding planning protocols for HME as assigned; and
    • Other duties as assigned by the Company.

Requirements

    • Minimum 10 years in a similar role
    • Direct experience in the planning and reliability of a primary production equipment fleet of 145+ with associated support equipment of 250+
    • Advanced proficiency of CMMS Systems supporting the maintenance planning and scheduling for all Mobile Equipment Assets and component subsystems tracking and forecasting
    • Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office suite
    • Demonstrated success in coaching national employees
    • Exposure to the challenges of operating in remote sites, developing countries and the development of national talent
    • Fluency in English required. French is considered an advantage.
